This project of the José Tomás Villa de Petrer International Guitar Festival began in 2012 with Maestro Leo Brouwer in his honor and presentation of the José Tomás Honorary Guitarist Award. The orchestra was conducted for several editions by conductor Pedro Chamorro. It has also been conducted by artists such as Jorge Cardoso, Francisco Albert Ricote, and Arnaud Dumond. 2019 marked the year of its last edition. Following the pandemic, we relaunched this flagship project of the Guitar Festival in 2023 with the aim of offering students enrolled in the courses the experience of sharing music alongside great artists. On this occasion, Pedro Mateo González will participate as solo guitarist. Miguel García Ferrer, expert conductor of various chamber ensembles, whom we were able to count on for the “Twenty-five Years Together” orchestra, formed by great guitarists for its 25th anniversary, will be in charge of conducting this fantastic monograph dedicated to the composer Vito Nicola Paradiso, and with the special collaboration of Marco Socías. Rehearsals will be Wednesday the 23rd (morning and afternoon) and Thursday the 24th (morning). The concert will be on Thursday the 24th at 8:30 pm at the Teatro Cervantes. Scores will be sent in advance. Sign up if you want to participate! At the end of the concert we will have a dinner to celebrate the meeting. The concert will be broadcast on the YouTube channel of the prestigious Omni Foundation of the EEUU.
